The Role

The information Governance Manager will bring together:

  • Information Governance management
  • Confidentiality and Data Protection assurance
  • Information Governance and Security assurance

into a university-wide comprehensive work programme consistent with relevant standards and legislation (e.g. NIST, ISO 27001, COBIT, SOC, GDPR and FOI).

Responsibilities include:

  • University policy development, implementation and oversight
  • Standardised and regular reporting on information governance and  security risk
  • Governance and Security awareness and training programs
  • Subject matter expertise to the interdisciplinary data incident response team (GDPR and non-GDPR)
  • Guidance and advice to all stakeholders and users, in particular across the supply chain
  • Overseeing the integration of university business continuity plans with governance and technical disaster recovery strategies.

The post holder will work closely with the IT Operations (e.g. cybersecurity) and Enterprise Solutions functions (e.g. data management), the Director of Governance & Chief Risk Officer and the Data Protection and Freedom of Information Officer. This post will report into the Director of IT Service, noting that may change at a later stage.

Senior Administrative Officer IV (2022)Salary Scale: €60,512 - €96,086 per annum (7 points) 

Appointments will be made in accordance with public sector pay provisions.
