Dr Slovak's group is seeking a highly motivated post-doctoral research associate with a strong background in Mental Health or Human-Computer Interaction, as part of UKRI Future Leaders Fellowship (https://petrslovak.com/flf/). This is a 2 year position, at Grade 6. The successful candidate will be mentored jointly by Dr Slovak (Informatics), Dr Crispin Day (IoPPN) and Prof Cathy Creswell (Oxford).
Applicants are invited to reach out to Dr Slovak (firstname.lastname@example.org) if they would like to informally talk about the role or have any questions.
Tasks: The postdoctoral researcher will take a lead on developing innovative approaches to parenting intervention delivery, combining: (i) qualitative research on challenges faced by parents in existing programmes; with (ii) a user-centred design process of envisioning new ways of supporting parents (and children) through scalable technology approaches.
The successful candidate will work directly with the PI, clinical mentors (across IoPPN and Oxford), and have the opportunity to draw on expertise of 2 other postdoc researchers in the group (HCI & psychology). The researcher will also have access to funds to hire additional temporary research assistants to support their work and scale up research efforts (after consultation with the PI), with ~£80k budgeted for such RAs across the project duration. A substantial prototyping and user study budget is also available. The funding also includes the opportunity to co-supervise PhD students associated with the project, as well as a generous training and travel budget directly allocated for the postdoctoral fellow, to further help position them as academic leaders and prepare them for the next step in their careers.
