Job Description

The Research Assistant will assist the PI, Professor Ivan Png, in applied microeconomic research. They will join the SPIRE team (https://bizfaculty.nus.edu.sg/spire/).

Duties include:

• Assisting with fieldwork
• Survey management
• Compiling data from primary and secondary sources, analysis and programming, algebraic analysis, reviewing research, and writing

Current projects include field experiments; studies of productivity at hawker centers, supermarkets, and among ride-hail and taxi drivers; estimates of labour supply elasticities; and studies of the implications of seasonality in employment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree (with Honours) in Economics, Business, or related subject.
• Skilled in programming and statistics.
• Willing to work independently, diligently, and learn.
• Work well with others and fluent in both the English and Chinese language to be able to carry out the fieldwork (e.g. interviews and surveys), and be able to write, understand and translate the projects' documents and reports as well
