Since its inception in 1860 as the Lady Byron School, the University of West London (UWL) has amassed a long and distinguished history of extending the reach of education to those who have been excluded from it. The School of Human and Social Sciences (SHSS) has recently expanded its disciplinary coverage and now delivers a portfolio of education, research and enterprise activity across psychology, criminology, education & early years, forensic science, addiction studies, nutritional therapy, and politics & international relations. 

We now seek to appoint an outstanding individual to lead the School. As the University develops and implements its next strategic plan you will provide leadership across human and social sciences and deliver a vision for the School’s portfolio of academic activity. 

You will be creative and enterprising; you will have a track record of achievement in a relevant academic field; you will be committed to student success and continuous improvement of service delivery; and you will have the ambition and confidence to drive our success.
