Role Description

We welcome applications from people who are passionate about print and digital science communication to work with our research teams.

About the Role

The role involves the creation and dissemination of engaging content via a range of media for a variety of academic and non-academic audiences. Working within the Cranfield Water Science Institute, you will collaborate closely with academic staff and partner organisations to deliver print and online material which informs, educates, and enthuses. The post will offer you a superb opportunity to broaden and deepen your skills by working across a range of scientific disciplines and industrial sectors. Your contributions will influence thinking, practice, and policy amongst a variety of stakeholder groups.

About You

You will have a first degree in science communication, media production or a similar topic and ideally also have some work experience. We expect you to be able to evidence a developing portfolio of print and digital science communication. The role involves converting primary scientific outputs materials into engaging content suitable for a variety of audiences and authoring impactful content such as press articles, blog posts, reports, etc. based on scientific findings. Maintaining social media feeds, creating web sites, and collaborating on outreach initiatives with academic and industry partners in the UK and abroad are also features of the post. You will be a confident and articulate communicator, creative, and have a broad understanding of and interest in science and technology.
