About the Role

The Research Accountant works closely with the Strategic Research Accountants and Mgr Research Reporting and collaboratively within the team to provide research related financial services as required and within the scope of role, ensuring that revenue recognition occurs timely and accurately.

To be successful in this position, you'll have:

  • Experience in general accounting and revenue recognition within complex organisational matrices and/or global/group environments. Advanced level computer skills and a working knowledge of an ERP system is essential.
  • Commitment to and successful delivery of high-quality, timely outputs within strict deadlines (organisational and time management skills) in a fast-paced, growing and environment.
  • Ability to apply accounting standards and the financial policies of a complex organisation coupled with the ability to balance control requirements with the achievement of outcomes

About You

You have a strong foundation in general accounting, revenue recognition, strong analytical and problem-solving ability which will support the inspection for accuracy of all general ledger activities that are revenue related in the specified portfolio while ensuring controls are in place for recognition of revenue.

About Central Finance Operations

Financial services partners with other areas of the university in achieving the organisation's objectives by strategically orienting its provision of financial services to the delivery of the core operations of the university.

  • Financial evaluation and financial planning
  • Corporate financial administration information system

Qualifications:

  • A relevant tertiary qualification and membership of a professional association (CA/CPA) (or currently undertaking studies towards such a membership) and/or experience in a financial services role in a large, complex organisation.
