At TU Dresden, Faculty of Electrical and Computer Engineering, the Institute of Electromechanical and Electronic Design offers a project position as

Research Associate / Postdoc (m/f/x)
(subject to personal qualification employees are remunerated according to salary group E 13 TV-L)

starting as soon as possible. The position comprises 80 % of the fulltime weekly hours and is limited until March 31, 2025. The period of employment is governed by § 2 (2) Fixed Term Research Contracts Act (Wissenschaftszeitvertragsgesetz - WissZeitVG).

Tasks: The Institutes research and teaching activities include electronic design automation through the development of algorithms, methods and software tools. The focus of your work will be to support the design of novel long, smart, and flexible electronic systems as part of a research project. These systems are based on flexible printed circuit boards (PCBs) and are intended to replace conventional cables, e.g. in catheters, and enable new products for applications with complex electrical connections. The main task is to develop a new software tool for geometric modeling and electrical simulation of these three-dimensionally shaped flexible electronics. Design rules for flexible electronics are then created based on simulation results.

Requirements:

  • very good to good university and, if applicable, PhD degree in electrical engineering, computer science or a comparable discipline
  • in-depth knowledge of microelectronic system design
  • programming skills
  • good proficiency in written and spoken English
