Job Description

The College of Education (CEDU) at The United Arab Emirates University (UAEU) seeks an innovative faculty member who is able to contribute to the ongoing and developing undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in education. The successful candidates will engage in teaching, research, and program development and engage with educational stakeholders e.g. schools; government ministries, to serve the dynamic educational sector of the UAE. The successful candidate will join the Department of Curriculum and Instruction. The department has thriving and expanding Masters and PhD programs with various concentrations and a popular undergraduate program in Early Childhood Education.

The College seeks candidates at the Associate Professor or Full Professor level with expertise in curriculum and instruction generally and specialist knowledge in science or STEM education. The successful candidate will be an active researcher, be experienced in teaching and supervising at the graduate level, with experience at the undergraduate level being an advantage, be able to prepare student teachers for their future careers in education, serve on Department, College and University committees when required and play an active role in future College development.

Required skills/experience:

• An earned doctorate in education;
• Special interest and expertise in science, maths or STEM education;
• A demonstrable research capability in the field of expertise;
• Evidence of a strong commitment to teaching excellence and student supervision; UAEU is based in the city of Al Ain in the Abu Dhabi Emirate.

This city is approximately 90 minutes’ drive from both Dubai and Abu Dhabi. UAEU is ranked 5th in the Arab World and 284th in the World according to QS rankings. English is the language of instruction and communication within UAEU. Minimum Qualification

Applicants must have an earned doctorate in the applicable field. The ability to teach undergraduate and graduate courses is a must. Industrial and professional experience is a plus.
