Assistant Professor / Associate Professor / Full Professor in Applied Mathematics / Statistics
The School of Mathematical Sciences is now seeking exceptional scholars to join us as Assistant Professors / Associate Professors / Professors in Applied Mathematics/Statistics.
About the School/Department
The School of Mathematical Sciences currently runs two degree programmes, which lead successful graduates to University of Nottingham degrees in BSc Honours Mathematics with Applied Mathematics and BSc Honours Statistics. Some of our students spend the last two years of education in Nottingham, UK, but most of them graduate in Ningbo, China. Our teaching is focused on the interdisciplinary nature of mathematical disciplines through introducing mathematical models from physics, biology, economics, etc., as well as illustrating how pure mathematical discoveries lead to applications in real life. Our research reflects this vision, too, and we are combining investigations in mathematics with applications.
All our teaching is delivered in English, which is the academic working language of the university.
We seek to appoint independent researchers, who are articulate teachers, with international teaching experience, preferably in English. We expect a convincing record of mathematical publications and a broad academic network. Experience of successful PhD supervision in the field of mathematical sciences in an institution with high international reputation is of great importance for applicants to senior positions.
