About the position

The position holder will have an understanding of current issues and research that impact humanities and pedagogy in the Education sector. The position holder will have strong knowledge of the national and state humanities curriculum and theoretical and pedagogical understandings to design impactful humanities learning opportunities in Initial Teacher Education programs. Expertise in working in teams to develop curriculum, design effective learning opportunities for students at a tertiary level in Initial Teacher Education programs and other related education programs is essential. The position holder will have a strong understanding and experience of designing learnings on a range of platforms with a strong understanding and application skills in digital learning. The position holder will have a research track-record, scholarship of teaching outputs and a program of research that will inform evidence-based approaches to research projects, course, and teaching delivery.

Skills and Experience

To be considered for this position, you will have;

  • Demonstrated experience in developing humanities curriculum and pedagogy in initial teacher education programs, and an understanding of current research and trends that inform quality teaching standards.
  • Ability to work collaboratively, recognise the value of diversity and model accountability, connectedness, innovation and care.
  • Ability to think creatively, explore new ideas and respectfully challenge existing practices in order to improve current ways of working.
  • Ability to enable a safe, inclusive, high-performing team culture, prioritising staff mental health and wellbeing.
  • Ability to build a culture of continuous improvement, implementing ideas generated by team members.
