Antibody and Vaccine Group, Centre for Cancer Immunology, University of Southampton, Faculty of Medicine, School of Cancer Sciences

Monoclonal antibodies (mAb) are now established as effective treatments for cancer, albeit with considerable potential for further improvement.  The Antibody and Vaccine Group based in the newly opened Centre for Cancer Immunology in Southampton has a strong track-record in basic and translational immunology relating to therapeutic mAb developing several mAb for clinical examination.

We are currently running an extensive programme of research led by Profs Mark Cragg, Stephen Beers, Bjorn Frendeus and Dr Sean Lim to develop new and more effective antibody reagents for cancer patients. The current opportunity is for a research technician to join our dynamic team at the interface between basic and translational science to work on a series of exciting new projects involving mAb capable of manipulating both T and myeloid cells to elicit powerful anti-tumour responses.

You will be motivated, educated in a relevant subject area and have practical laboratory experience of antibody biology and in vivo methodology.

The position is full-time and for 18 months in the first instance with the provision for a subsequent 18 months based upon progress.

Informal queries should be directed to Professor Mark Cragg (msc@soton.ac.uk)

You should submit your completed online application form at https://jobs.soton.ac.uk. The application deadline will be midnight on the closing date stated above. If you need any assistance, please call Holly Shergold (Recruitment Team) on +44 (0) 23 8059 6803, or email recruitment@soton.ac.uk. Please quote reference 1798922CM on all correspondence.
