About the team

The UWA Business School is one of Australia’s top ranked Business Schools. In its unique position on the West Coast of Australia, facing the Indo-Pacific, the School aims to extend its education mission to the broader region offering world class education and leading international research that is relevant to the challenges of today and the future. The UWA Business School has around 100 academic staff and 500 students and teaches both undergraduate, postgraduate masters, MBA and PhD courses. It is accredited by both the European Quality Improvement System (EQUIS) and Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) and is a signatory to UNPRME.

The marketing department in the UWA Business School offers undergraduate and postgraduate degree courses, as well as research-based doctoral degrees. The students rank amongst the brightest in Australia, as measured by Australian Tertiary Admissions Rank (ATAR). The Department is particularly interested in hiring individuals who are enthusiastic about teaching and, equally importantly, have a well-developed research agenda with the aim of publishing in high-quality refereed academic journals.

About the opportunity

As the successful appointee you will be responsible to the Head of Department and will be expected to make outstanding contributions to teaching, research and service within the school, in accordance with university rules, the code of conduct and the universities education and academic mission..

To be considered for this role, you will demonstrate:

  • Hold a relevant PhD/ equivalent with completion prior to 2023
  • A personal commitment to, and achievement in, scholarly research and communication of that achievement to others
  • That you have developed a clear, coherent research agenda within the area of marketing, and be willing to work collaboratively with others in the school in furthering their research
  • Evidence of ability to guide the direction and supervision of postgraduate students, and be willing to supervise honours or postgraduate research projects
  • A significant personal contribution and commitment to high quality teaching and learning, including prior teaching experience
  • Evidence of an active role in the maintenance of academic standards and in the development of unit curriculums in their area of teaching
  • Evidence of commitment to participate in the development of learning and teaching communities
  • Ability to teach in the area of marketing analytics and/or tourism is advantageous
  • Willingness to be involved in academic and professional activities and in school policy development and administrative matters
  • Willingness to liaise with members of the community, and where appropriate, professional and relevant industry bodies;
  • Willingness to work collaboratively with other members of the School;
