We are looking for an innovative and collaborative specialist to design and implement high-impact and creative communication and engagement content to support academic and education activities at Australia’s national university.

About the Role

An exciting opportunity exists to join the Office of the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic) team to lead communication and engagement activities to help drive the strategic objectives of the Portfolio and University.

The Communication and Engagement Manager will work closely and build effective and collaborative relationships with all Academic Portfolio key staff involved in project activity, liaise with the Portfolio Executive, teams and colleagues, and will be a key point of contact for ANU Communications & Engagement (ACE) teams and requires an excellent working relationship with these key stakeholders. The Manager will provide high-quality, professional support and advice on strategic and operational aspects, lead initiatives, and deliver communication and engagement projects on a wide variety of topics.

About you

Our ideal candidate will be a highly motivated professional who has:

  • Demonstrated success developing and managing internal communications and projects in a complex environment.
  • Ability to apply judgement, creativity and flexibility to generate new and innovative ideas to solve complex problems.
  • Proven ability to influence senior management and stakeholders as appropriate to ensure successful communications outcomes.
  • Excellent written communication and presentation skills, with demonstrated expertise in writing and producing publications, web content and communications materials.
  • Proven experience with digital communications channels and platforms, and an ability to articulate complex information in simple and relatable terms.
  • Demonstrated ability to liaise effectively with all levels of internal and external stakeholders, and influence to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills, with the ability to navigate through competing deadlines.
