This is a growing community of staff with technical expertise who support a range of CDS activities, teaching and research and other tasks as determined by the Head of the Tech-Hub.

You will be required to engage with students, academic staff and outside customers to discuss experimental requirements enabling successful implementation of experimental programmes and data acquisition.

You will be responsible for the smooth running of all laboratory facilities.

About You

You will hold a City and Guilds Level 3, equivalent or higher qualification, in engineering or an engineering related discipline.  You will have experience in an engineering environment or a ‘hands on’ role within industry and skills gained across a variety of experiences (mechanics, woodwork, computing, drawing).

You will have a good knowledge of health and safety procedures and some involvement with the production of relevant documentation.

You will have the ability to negotiate with colleagues, suppliers and clients in a professional and positive manner to ensure the smooth running of a laboratory or experimental program.
