The period of employment is governed by the Fixed Term Research Contracts Act (Wissenschaftszeitvertragsgesetz - WissZeitVG). The position aims at obtaining further academic qualification (e.g. habilitation thesis).
Tasks: The chair covers the area of microsystems technology in research and teaching. A particular focus is on novel microsystems, which are based on the use of the special properties of intrinsically active organic and polymeric materials. Your teaching activities include the preparation and implementation of teaching tasks in microsystems technology, microfluidics, micro- and soft robotics as well as materials in nano- / microelectronics. Your research focuses on technologies for the production of polymeric microsystems, microfluidic, micro- and soft robotic structures and their components with lithographic and printing methods, as well as the design of polymeric microsystems. Your work also includes the guidance and support of students and doctoral students as well as laboratory responsibilities.
Requirements: above-average university and doctorate degree in the fields of electrical engineering, microsystems engineering, materials science or related fields and several years of experience in the areas of technology or product development in microsystems engineering; synthesis and characterization of intrinsically active polymers, ability to work independently, goal-oriented, high level of commitment, confident knowledge of the English language as well as enjoyment and interest in practice-oriented, interdisciplinary collaboration with cooperation partners and dealing with students. Experience in at least three of the fields of microsystems engineering, microfluidics, organ-on-chip, microtechnologies, microrobotics, soft robotics, chemical and bioanalytics, and information processing is required.
We offer: a competent, successful, interdisciplinary, international and friendly team, excellently equipped laboratories, participation in scientific conferences and an extensive partner network in science and industry. The TU Dresden is one of the eleven German Elite Universities, which not only offers a dynamic, creative and modern environment, but also a wide range of advanced qualification options and a family-friendly environment.
