Duties and responsibilities

Applications are invited for Research Fellow positions at the Department of the Built Environment, National University of Singapore, to commence as soon as possible. Applicants should possess a Bachelor or M.S. degree in the field of construction, architectural and civil engineering, construction management, mechanical engineering, computer science, and/or a related field.

The RFs are expected to work on one or several research topics:

1. Building Intelligence into 5G technologies
2. Deep semi-supervised learning and automatic generative design
3. Structural BIM and robot-aided construction
4. Robot-assisted construction progress monitoring
5. Prefabricated Prefinished Volumetric Construction (PPVC) and 3D printing
6. 5G-enabled robot system
7. Self-supervised learning and autonomous inspection
8. Provide guidance and overseeing the operations of 5G Centre
9. Paper Publications and Patents
10. Any other job scope stipulated by Supervisor or Department

Qualifications

Qualifications & Skills Requirement

The appointee will assist in planning and implementing related research projects with PhD students and RAs within the research group and the 5G Centre, including conducting research, preparing research findings, writing report, providing staff guidance, running technical operations, patents and paper, etc. They should have comprehensive knowledge of 5G, MQTT network protocol, computer vision, deep learning, robot operating system, UAV and UGV control, quadruped robot, with a track record of peer-reviewed publications. They should have knowledge in programming including but not limited to C++, Python, etc. with strong analytical and critical thinking skills. The Ras & RFs should have proficiency in written and spoken English.
