The Department of Computing and Decision Sciences (https://cptra.ln.edu.hk) is one of the five departments in the Faculty of Business that contribute to the undergraduate programme of Bachelor of Business Administration (Hons) degree. The Department hosts the LEO Dr David P. Chan Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Data Science programme and runs a Master of Science Programme in Artificial Intelligence and Business Analytics as well as a Master of Science Programme in eBusiness and Supply Chain Management. The Department invites applications for tenure-track faculty position in the areas of (i) Data Science, (ii) Information Systems, (iii) Artificial Intelligence, and (iv) Data Analytics.

General Requirements

Applicants should have a PhD degree in Computer Science, Data Analytics, Information Systems, or a relevant discipline. The appointee is expected to have passion in research and teaching. Ideally, the candidate would have strong relations with the industry, and have experience in applying artificial intelligence/data science/analytics in real life contexts. Experience in securing external research, educational, and industrial grants, and in managing and promoting undergraduate programmes will be an advantage. For appointment as Associate Professor, candidates should have at least five years of relevant experience and a sound track record in research and scholarly activities. For appointment as Assistant Professor, candidates should have relevant teaching experience and demonstrate outstanding research potential in the related fields.

Appointment

The conditions of appointment will be competitive. The rank and remuneration will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Fringe benefits include annual leave, medical and dental benefits, mandatory provident fund, gratuity and incoming passage and baggage allowance for the eligible appointee.

Appointment will normally be made on an initial contract of three years, which, subject to review and mutual agreement, may lead to longer-term appointment with possibility of consideration for substantiation.
