Oxford Brookes University
Pro Vice-Chancellor Education
Salary – Competitive

Oxford Brookes is one of the UK’s leading modern universities and enjoys an international reputation for teaching excellence and innovation as well as strong links with business and industry. We are distinctive in nature, a modern, forward-thinking institution rooted in and connected to a city with a rich history of culture and learning. Through our excellence in teaching, research and knowledge exchange we make the world a better and fairer place.

We are internationally respected for our bold leadership and innovation in education and, following the appointment of Professor Anne-Marie Kilday to the Vice-Chancellorship at the University of Northampton, we are now seeking to appoint our next Pro Vice-Chancellor Education.   The role requires an outstanding academic with extensive leadership experience in education to build on the strong foundations left by the current incumbent.

Our new PVC will be a member of the Vice-Chancellor’s Group and will play a pivotal role in the strategic leadership of the University as we embark on our new strategic plan, taking specific responsibility for the education and enterprise pillar.

Across the University our NSS and PTES scores are good and testify to our ambition and commitment to offer an exciting, innovative and relevant education. However, sector shifts and challenges mean we must accelerate our efforts in everything from our digital offer to our approach to assessment.

There is much to be done, yet we are determined, excited and ambitious for this important stage in our development.

Our PVC will be an outstanding communicator. With an excellent reputation for their understanding of the craft of teaching, they will be an influential and authoritative voice in representing education at Oxford Brookes. With a clear view on what a modern education strategy should be and the skills to work across a complex stakeholder group with real influence to affect delivery, our next PVC will embody our efforts to put students at the heart of everything we do.
