Applications are invited for a Temporary post of a Research Project Finance Officer within Geography
UCD is seeking to appoint an experienced Finance Officer to be responsible for the financial administration of the Ireland-based components of the Coastal Uplands: Heritage and Tourism (CUPHAT) operation. This project seeks to promote sustainable forms of heritage-based tourism in the coastal uplands that border the Irish Sea, namely the Wicklow Mountains and Blackstairs Mountains (in Ireland) and the Cambrian Mountains and Preseli Hills (in Wales). A collaborative project, part-funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) through the Ireland Wales Cooperation programme 2014-2020, it brings together three partners: University College Dublin (UCD), Aberystwyth University (AU), and the Dyfed Archaeological Trust. The overall aim is to use the cultural and natural heritage assets of these four areas to promote sustainable forms of tourism, thus leading to the creation of more sustainable livelihoods, communities, and environments.
The Finance Officer will undertake day-to-day accounting, financial administration functions, and financial reporting on behalf of the Ireland Activity Lead Coordinator, UCD Project Co-PIs and project staff. They will also liaise closely with the Project Manager and Finance Administrator at AU. They will be responsible for all project purchasing including procurement and tendering processes. The appointee will operate in an evolving environment where duties and responsibilities will be subject to review and change over time. The position will be located in UCD, Belfield, Dublin.
