Our team of researchers lead key internationally competitive research from molecules to medicines, from patient to policy across a range of therapeutic areas.

Join the School of Medical Sciences as a Research Fellow and work on developing new drugs for chronic pain. You will play a key role using your quantitative and qualitative skills to collect data and work on the various research components. The Research Fellow will support in the design, development and evaluation of the impact of how drugs interact with and modulate glycine transporters and how they can affect chronic pain.

• apply and refine expertise in research methodologies
• contribute and coordinate to the research and administration activities of the program
• develop research collaborations which will ultimately result in knowledge or technology transfer leading to commercialisation, improved policy or practice and/or enhancements
• assist with future grant applications and supervision of PhD students

About you

• experience in a relevant area such as drug discovery, biochemistry or pharmacology, a higher degree preferred but not essential
• strong expertise and research experience in animal models of pain
• strong expertise in molecular biology and cell culture
• independence in conducting high quality research under limited supervision
• proven high-level problem-solving skills
• a strong track record in research publication in journals of high impact
• excellent organisational and administrative skills with attention to detail as well as excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• experience with funding applications for research grants and/or research fellowships.
