Lecturer Level B $100,933-$119,391 per annum plus an employer contribution of 17% superannuation will apply.

Fixed term contract commencing June 2022, to December 2022 with a possibility to extend.

This is a part-time (0.7 FTE) position however a fractional appointment may be considered for the right candidate in line with business needs.

This position is only open to applicants who hold valid Australian working rights and visa holders who do not require sponsorship.

The Technology Education Centre (TEC) brings together teaching and technology experts from across the SET Faculty to deliver cross-disciplinary and domain-facing undergraduate and postgraduate courses and programs. The Centre offers a stimulating and rewarding environment in which to work and has a focus on helping to define new levels of best practice and leading pedagogy uplift across the Faculty as well as breaking down traditional disciplinary silos. A major part of this role is the fulfilment of a range of responsibilities associated with teaching and teaching related duties (80%), that include course coordination, development of course material and assessment activities for undergraduate and postgraduate students. Other duties include administrative functions that are largely associated with teaching, and involvement in professional activities within the Faculty and more broadly across the University and its internal and external strategic partners.

To be successful you will need:

  • A higher degree in linguistics, education or a related field.
  • Evidence of successful teaching in language and communication at tertiary level.
  • Demonstrated ability in innovative curriculum design and implementation.
  • Expertise in the use of online learning technologies.
  • Demonstrated experience in course coordination and or primary responsibility for course outcomes and administrative functions of the Technology Education Centre.

Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively with colleagues in engineering and related disciplines are essential for this position.
