Description

The Ministry of Science and Technology of China has recently established the first State Key Laboratory of Lunar and Planetary Sciences (SKLPlanets), based in the vibrant city of Macau. The Chinese National Space Administration has also just launched the Macau Space Exploration and Science Center to further research activities at SKLPlanets. The laboratory is envisioned as a major research hub in this field, fostering international multi-disciplinary collaborations, and making full use of the territory’s 5-centuries-old tradition in connecting the East and the West. The SKLPlanets has been installed at the Macau University of Science and Technology (MUST), the leading university in the territory and a fast climber in the world rankings of higher education institutions.

The laboratory has a team of international experts with 20 appointed faculty members but is currently looking to expand and strengthen its research to inform the next wave of the ambitious Chinese Space Program.

To cope with our developmental plan, applications are invited from those with excellent academic achievements in the following areas:

Professional Areas

Astrobiology, Cosmochemistry, Exoplanets and Planetary Atmospheres, Physics and Chemistry of Planetary Interiors, Planetary Geology, Planetary Magnetism, Planetary Space Physics, Planetary Surface Environment and Small Bodies in Solar System.

Qualifications

  • An earned Doctorate Degree in related discipline;
  • Bilingual teaching ability preferred;
  • Proven university teaching experience in related disciplines and strong experience in research records (with overseas experiences would be an advantage).

Remuneration Package

Remuneration and appointment rank offered will be commensurate with the successful applicants’ academic qualification, professional experience and current position. Medical benefits, annual leave, provident fund, allowance and bonus, on job training program or overseas study opportunities will be provided by the University.
