Applications are invited for a temporary post of a Research Software Engineer within UCD School of Computer Science. Background: This research project is a collaboration between the UCD School of Information and Communications Studies and the School of Computer Science. The project, led by Prof. Eugenia Siapera, is funded through the Irish Research Council COALESCE programme. https://research.ie/funding/coalesce/ Project Description: The project focuses on health narratives hosted by the so called Alt-Tech social media platforms that have emerged as alternative versions of mainstream platforms. The project will collect and analyse publicly available data related to Covid-19 hosted on Parler, Bitchute and Telegram along with relevant data from YouTube and Twitter. This research software engineer will be responsible for data gathering and the application of topic modeling and network analysis to these data. They will be located in the School of Computer Science but will work closely with researchers in the School of Information and Communications Studies. Fixed salary: €41,000 per annum Closing date: 17:00hrs (local Irish time) on the 26th of April 2022. Applications must be submitted by the closing date and time specified.
