Applications are invited for the post of Senior Lecturer in the Department of Social Work. The post is in the area of Social Care. The Department of Social Work is part of the School of Law and Social Sciences, alongside the Departments of Economics, Politics, International Relations and Philosophy, and Law and Criminology. We are forward thinking, multidisciplinary and research active. We offer an undergraduate programme in Social Science, together with Masters programmes in Social Work and Advanced Practice and a PG Dip Programme in Step Up to Social Work. We are also home to an energetic postgraduate research student community.
We seek outstanding individuals to join our dynamic and multidisciplinary team. This post will be offered on either the teaching focussed or the research and teaching track. The Senior lecturer will take a leading role in the development and management of our new BSc Health and Social Care degree which will begin in 2023/24. This position is open to qualified social workers (one will have a children and families background and the other an adult social work background) who will be able to teach across our different programmes at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. We are particularly interested in candidates with knowledge of social care education as well as practical experience in either children and families or adult social work. We also expect leadership and an effective contribution to programme or department administration or projects improving the student experience.
For those applicants interested in the research and teaching track, we are seeking to add to our research priorities in alignment with the College’s research catalysts which are currently Living Sustainably, Transformative Digital Technologies, Security and Society and Digital Futures in the Creative and Cultural Industries. Preference is likely to be given to candidates who have secured or are looking to secure research funding.
The posts are available from August 2022 and successful applicants will be based in both our Campus in Egham, Surrey where the College is situated in a beautiful, leafy campus near to Windsor Great Park and at 11 Bedford Square, London where our post graduate teaching takes place.
