About the Job

Swinburne is embarking on an exciting journey, working towards our new vision of bringing people and technology together to build a better world. We are seeking a highly technical and experienced professional to take on the Application Analyst position within the Application Services team in the Information Technology department. The team focuses on integrating systems to support business processes and provide data between the numerous applications used by the University, and aims to provide seamless integration across these systems to optimise operational efficiency for University staff and provide an excellent student experience.

In this role, you will be responsible for working in partnership with stakeholders and colleagues to develop and implement significant improvements for Corporate functions. This involves analysis and definition of business requirements, supporting user testing and business process re-engineering.

The Application Analyst will be responsible for driving a high standard of customer service to ensure recognition of, and responsiveness to, the needs of internal and external clients. You will be able to enhance your existing skills by participating in cross-training between support teams and increase the breadth and depth of your capability across the Application Services team.

About you

To be suitable for the role you will possess the following:

  • Experience with PHP, JAVA, JavaScript, HTML, XML or other scripting languages, web development experience, experience with SQL queries.
  • Working knowledge of O365, Active Directory, Windows server, Windows Domain and Identity management knowledge (desirable)
  • Demonstrated experience in software incident management and problem management including investigation, resolution and communication.
  • A strong customer service orientation with a focus on results and quality of service.
  • Ability to exercise substantial initiative and high-level judgement and to work independentlyor as part of a team to deliver outcomes within defined timeframes.
  • Work with business, operations & technology on incidents, changes, initiatives and take them to logical conclusions whilst partnering with internal support/development teams and vendors
