Assistant Professor, Product and Industrial Design

The Jindal School of Art and Architecture (JSAA) at the O.P. Jindal Global University, invites applications for the position of Assistant Professor who are willing to take up teaching & research assignments and are ready to join latest by beginning August 2022.

The JSAA seeks applicants who have their undergraduate coursework in a professionally accredited architecture program in India or in their country of residence with a masters’ or higher degrees with a focus on Product and Industrial design.

Candidates should demonstrate an in-depth knowledge of fabrication processes, both analogue and digital with an extensive knowledge of various materials, with expertise in engineering, smart and emerging technologies, circular economies and/or human factors. The candidate should exhibit an evolved understanding of complex local and global production and fabrication contexts.

Required Qualifications

1. Professionally Accredited Bachelor of Architecture (or equivalent) degree and Registration in India or their country of residence.
2. Master’s degree in Product and Industrial Design.
3. Professional Experience in Product and Industrial Design (minimum 3-5 years)

Candidates who are able to demonstrate a minimum of 5-7 years of active and involved working experience within the field, following their culminating degree will be given preference.

Desired Qualifications

1. Ph.D. in a relevant field.
2. Prior teaching / industry experience is strongly preferred
3. Flexible, integrative, collaborative and inter-disciplinary approach to design education.
