The role

The post sits in the University of Exeter Business School. We seek to expand our team of outstanding researchers and teachers by appointing a Lecturer or Senior Lecturer. We hope to hire faculty who will contribute to building on our current strengths within the field of Climate Finance, Corporate Governance, Investments and Corporate Disclosure.

We are seeking talented academics with expertise in one or more of the following areas:  climate risk, climate change, Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) issues, sustainable and responsible investments, green finance, environmental governance, climate policy, sustainable development, carbon pricing, energy markets, renewable energy, responsible finance, and corporate sustainability.

We also look for those who have a strong record of accomplishment in innovative research, as well as a passion for inter-disciplinary teaching, and who have the necessary skills to conduct high-quality research and teach a range of courses in the Business School's undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programs.

About you

For a Lecturer post you will have:

 

  • A PhD or equivalent in Finance/Business or related areas and have an independent, internationally-recognised research programme in a relevant active field of research
  • A track record in ABS four-star refereed publications, or demonstrate potential to do so
  • A strong record in attracting funding for research, or demonstrate potential to attract such funding
  • An active approach to inter-disciplinary and multi-disciplinary research
  • Enthusiasm for delivering high quality undergraduate and postgraduate programmes
  • The attitude and ability to engage in continuous professional development

For Senior Lecturer, in addition to the above, you will have:

  • A strong potential for research leadership
  • A track record in ABS four-star refereed publications and success in significant grant capture
  • Relationships with external organisations and funders/ and knowledge and experience of key sectors or business challenges
  • Strong connections with business, government and/or civil society organisations Involvement in projects which develop impact

About the Finance & Accounting department

The Department of Finance and Accounting at the University of Exeter Business School is research-oriented and devoted to teaching excellence. Newly formed in 2019, the Department is committed to producing world-class research with economic and societal impact, and to delivering research-led, engaging education that helps students attain the highest standards, and realise their potential to make an impact on the world. We are committed to advancing theory and working with leaders and managers in organisations to achieve practical solutions to their most important issues.

Staff members have recently published in journals such as the Review of Financial Studies, the Journal of Accounting and Economics, Management Science, and the Journal of Financial and Quantitative Analysis.
