The University of Macau (UM) is the only public comprehensive university in the Macao Special Administrative Region (MSAR) located at the west bank of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA). The Faculty of Education invites applications for the position of Full/Associate Professor in English Education.

Qualifications

An earned doctorate degree in English Education or related areas with solid evidence for teaching/research/service. Preference will be given to the candidates with expertise in areas such as language testing and assessment, language curriculum design and materials development, as well as prior experience in English language teacher training and/or teaching English in primary and/or secondary schools in Macau or similar contexts. Priority consideration will be given to those with a strong record of publications in competitive related refereed journals (e.g., SSCI, SCI or A&HCI indexed journals) in the relevant disciplines.

The selected candidate is expected to assume duty in August 2022.

Remuneration

A taxable annual remuneration starting from MOP1,019,200 (approximately USD125,830) will be commensurate with the successful applicants’ academic qualification and relevant professional experience. The current local maximum income tax rate is 12% but is effectively around 5% - 7% after various discretionary exemptions.
