Applications are invited for appointment as Post-doctoral Fellow in the Division of Epidemiology and Biostatistics of the School of Public Health (Ref.: 511705), to commence as soon as possible for two years, with the possibility of renewal.

Applicants should possess a doctoral degree by research (Ph.D., D.Sc., Dr.P.H. or equivalent) in statistics, computer sciences, biostatistics, public health or a related quantitative and computational discipline. They must be proficient in data analysis using statistical or mathematical software, such as R, MATLAB and SAS. They should have an excellent command of written and spoken English, and a demonstrated record of publishing academic research papers. They should be organized, self-motivated, and able to work independently as well as in a multidisciplinary team. Experience in infectious disease modelling and analysis will be an advantage.

The appointee will perform applied and methodological work to develop epidemiological and/or statistical inferential frameworks for assessing the dynamics of COVID-19 and other infectious diseases including influenza. He/She will collect data and improve the estimations of epidemiological model parameters with the aim to achieve better and real-time assessment of the disease dynamics and the impact of the interventions for further prediction and forecasting. He/She will also contribute to other projects in the team, supervise junior research staff, and perform other research-related duties as assigned.
