We are seeking to recruit Simulation & Clinical Skills Operations Manager to join our team in the School of Health and Social care. This new role designed to lead and manage the Clinical Skills & Simulation Centre and team, manage the day-to-day operations of the Centre. You will report to the Associate Professor Clinical Skills and Simulation, working closely with the Dean of School, academic and professional services colleagues to collaboratively deliver a high-quality service and student experience.

The role

The role holder will be responsible for clinical skills tutors, technicians and physical resource to ensure the delivery of high-quality simulation and clinical skills training, whilst engaging with external stakeholders to generate and increase commercial income for the School of Health & Social Care.

You will be required to support the Associate Professor Clinical Skills and simulation to identify and facilitate opportunities for the strategic development of new courses and implement emerging technology developments to better support the needs of the academic subject groups in SHSC and external stakeholders.

Essential requirements

  • Degree or equivalent, relevant work experience in a healthcare context.
  • Professionally registered in the UK as a health professional.
  • Experience of operationally managing clinical skills related facilities in a healthcare or education context.
  • Experience of managing budgets and/or staff resource.
  • Project management experience with a track-record of delivery.
  • Experience of supporting students in their learning in a healthcare or education context.
  • Excellent analytical, organisational, interpersonal and networking skills.
  • Interest in technology enabled learning, in particular clinical skills and simulation.

Desirable requirements

  • Knowledge of higher education environments.
  • Strategic and operational planning processes.
  • Interest in disciplines and subjects relevant to the School.
