About the Centre for Quantum Technologies

The Centre for Quantum Technologies (CQT) is a research centre of excellence in Singapore. It brings together physicists, computer scientists and engineers to do basic research on quantum physics and to build devices based on quantum phenomena. Experts in this new discipline of quantum technologies are applying their discoveries in computing, communications, and sensing.

CQT is hosted by the National University of Singapore and also has staff at Nanyang Technological University. With some 180 researchers and students, it offers a friendly and international work environment.

Job Description

The team of Alexander Ling develops quantum light sources and detectors for deployable quantum communications. Part of this effort is the development of auto-aligning free-space optical terminals suitable for transmission of quantum signals over distances of a few kilometres. These terminals will be used to demonstrate the deployment of various quantum communication primitives under field conditions.

Job Requirements

  • Min Bachelor / Master Degree in Physics or equivalent
  • Relevant experience and training in the relevant technologies
  • Experience in either optical alignment or motorized control systems
  • Excellent written and spoken English
