Exploiting the innate and adaptive immune interface for effective cancer therapy (Cancer Research UK)

Salary ranging will be £31,406 - £40,927 per annum (Level 4-5, depending on experience)

A Bioinformatics Research Scientist position is available with Dr Sean Lim's laboratory within the Antibody and Vaccine Group, Centre for Cancer Immunology (CCI) in Southampton.  The Group has a strong track record in basic and translational immunology including development of therapeutic monoclonal antibodies.

We are currently running a programme of research to understand how monoclonal antibodies can be combined to promote effective cancer immunotherapy.  In particular, we are interested in studying the effects of agonistic antibodies on T-cell stimulation and myeloid immunity through single-cell sequencing (CITE-seq) in both pre-clinical and clinical studies.  The aim is use this knowledge in the development of novel clinical trials.

The post holder needs to be able to work independently as well as collaboratively, and must have 

  • a PhD or be close to completion of a PhD in bioinformatics, or relevant computational field, 
  • or have extensive experience analysing single-cell sequencing data using R. 

The position is full-time and fixed term for 2 years, with opportunities for extension depending on progress. Interviews will be held on 1st April 2020.
