Full-time: 35 hours per week

We are looking to appoint exceptional academics who can enhance our profile. You will demonstrate an appropriate capability in the subject area, and will be expected to contribute to leadership roles within the Division of Engineering.

The successful candidate will have extensive experience in the sub-discipline of Geotechnical Engineering, Structural Engineering or Materials and will be required to contribute to the delivery and continued development of a strong portfolio of JBM accredited BEng and MSc programs in Civil Engineering.

Your experience will demonstrate a commitment to high quality, innovative education with a global outlook. You will augment our commercial and / or research activities, and will exhibit an entrepreneurial and collaborative mind-set to enhance the impact of your work.

The School’s research is organised into a close community of inter-disciplinary research groups , with growing interests in future energy, renewables and sustainability, manufacturing and engineering technologies, and advanced materials.

The prospective candidate should have an Honours degree in Civil Engineering from a professionally accredited programme and be qualified to PhD level in a Civil Engineering subject. Full membership of an appropriate professional body and Advance HE is desirable.  A proven track record in commercial practice and / or research with a strong research profile along with appropriate experience of lecturing in the appropriate engineering disciplines is expected.

This position will be based at our Paisley Campus. The successful candidate will also be expected to contribute to our international academic activities.
