Would you like to join us as a Buildings Manager? We are looking for an energetic, customer-focused person to join our new Buildings Management Team within the University Library.
The Buildings Management Team is primarily based at the Hartley Library on the University's Highfield Campus, but also works with the staff teams across all of our sites. You will manage our Buildings Supervisors, and will work with colleagues across the Library and the Estates departments of the University and our partner organisations to ensure that our environments are maintained effectively for our staff, students, and visitors.
The Buildings Management Team identifies and reports faults, and works with Estates to ensure maintenance is carried out. The team also has oversight of day-to-day health and safety management: reporting issues, conducting building inductions, monitoring and recording checks and compliance.
You will line manage our Buildings Supervisors, providing guidance and coaching as required, and holding regular one-to-one and team meetings. You will report to the Head of Partnerships and Place, but will also work closely with the site and front of house managers, plus many other colleagues across the Library, University, and in our partner organisations (University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust, and National Oceanography Centre).
