Applications are invited for a temporary post of a UCD Post-doctoral Research Fellow Level 1 within School of Architecture, Planning and Environmental Policy.

Applications are invited from enthusiastic and talented individuals for a 16-month Postdoctoral research position as a part of the Science Foundation Ireland (SFI) Smart Mobility Hub. In an effort to reduce staff in companies reliance on private cars, the Smart Mobility Hub project is developing, deploying and analysing a multimodal sharing mobility hub with a wide range of vehicles (e-cars, e-bikes, e-cargo bikes, etc.) to assess its impacts on local mobility and environment.

From excessive congestion to poor air quality, reliance on private cars in urban centres can have a host of negative impacts on how we experience our cities. The Smart Mobility Hub pilot intends to help alleviate these problems by providing innovative solutions for staff work-related travel and assess how it could be scaled up and out to increase its impacts. The successful candidate will be part of a dynamic team within the Spatial Dynamics Lab in UCD, which is currently running several projects funded by the European Commission, Science Foundation Ireland, EPA, etc. This is a research focused role, where you will conduct a specified programme of research supported by research training and development under the supervision and direction of a Principal Investigator.

The primary purpose of the role is to further develop your research skills and competences, including the processes of publication in peer-reviewed academic publications, the development of funding proposals, the mentorship of graduate students along with the opportunity to develop your skills in research led teaching.

Salary: €39,131 - €45,158 per annum
