About Student and Scholarly Services 

Student and Scholarly Services provides student administration and services from recruitment and point of enquiry to graduation. This team also delivers wellbeing and scholarly services to students and staff.

The Enrolment Advisers are part of Student Enrolments team, one of the many teams based at Stop 1 (‘connecting students and services’).  Student Enrolments comprises two sub-teams that together are responsible for coordinating and delivering high quality services to students and stakeholders across the University in the areas of enrolment, results, and compliance and reporting.

About the Role

As an Enrolment Adviser, you will play an important role in supporting the delivery of high quality, sizeable and time-critical enrolment services to students and colleagues from across the University. You will work within the Enrolment Compliance team, and deliver an array of services including, enrolment audits, coordinating re-enrolment, and student Visa advice and support.

In a typical week at work, you may:

  • Provide accurate, timely, accessible and culturally appropriate support and advice to a diverse range of current and former students, colleagues and external organisations. Many enquiries will require specialist and/or sensitive attention 
  • Assess students’ enrolment status (e.g., have they met course progression requirements), as well as applications for reinstatements, fee waivers, CoE extensions, release and enrolment amendments   
  • Contribute positively to the team by consistently promoting a quality client service culture and a multi-skilled and supportive environment to ensure; a high standard of service to all clients; knowledge, opportunities and work demands are shared, and staff absences are covered 

Please note, this is a full-time, fixed-term role available until 31 March 2023.

About You

To succeed in this role, you will be an organised and proactive problem-solver, with strong interpersonal and administrative skills. You’ll be a natural team-player, with a commitment to customer service, collaboration, and continual service improvement. You will have an interest in University and Government policies, with strong attention to detail in relation to guidelines and student records to ensure accuracy and compliance.

Ideally, you will further have:

  • An undergraduate degree, or an advanced diploma qualification with at least 1 year’s subsequent relevant work experience, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training 
  • A demonstrated commitment and ability to provide high quality customer service to a diverse range of clients and stakeholders in a busy, large and complex organisation 
  • Current working knowledge of the Education Services for Overseas Students (ESOS) Act. and experience providing student-visa advice to tertiary students and colleagues 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including a demonstrated ability to (i) provide professional advice via phone, email, face to face (ii) prepare accurate correspondence, team guides, etc (iii) interpret and apply policy and other legislative requirements and guidelines accurately (iv) ascertain different and more complex requirements and successfully resolve queries
