Job Details

Applications are invited for a Temporary (48 months) of a UCD Post-doctoral Research Fellow Level 1 within the UCD School of Medicine

We are an epidemiology research group who work on identifying young people at risk of psychosis through the use of a mixture of large epidemiological research and focused clinical studies, collaborating with researchers across a range of other, complementary domains including in neuroimaging, neuropsychology and biomarker research. Our overall goal is to identify groups at risk of psychosis early in life so that we can intervene to prevent psychosis. This study will build on exciting pilot research (in press) to use large Nordic register data to (1) investigate clinical risk factors associated with psychosis risk and (2) investigate the (causal) effect of psychiatric treatments (pharmacological and psychosocial) in childhood and adolescence mental health outcomes.

There is also scope for the Post-doctoral Research Fellow to develop their own, complementary line of research.

The project will involve working with other healthcare register researchers based in Finland and Sweden. Examples of recent work from this research group can be seen at https://scholar.google.com/citations?user=DY32w7kAAAAJ&hl=en&oi=ao

This is a research focused role, where you will conduct a specified programme of research supported by research training and development under the supervision and direction of a Principal Investigator.
