  • Base Salary $89,759 + 17% superannuation

About the opportunity

We are seeking an Education Support Officers within the Faculty of Medicine and Health. The role will be travelling between Westmead Hospital and Sydney Dental Hospital.

As an Education Support Officer, your key responsibilities will be to:

  • provide operational and educational administrative support to the work area's academic and teaching staff
  • interpret, advise, and implement relevant University policy and practice, assisting staff and affiliates with policy interpretation and other procedural issues
  • liaise with and establish strong working relationships within the work area, ensuring that education support, learning, curriculum, and teaching priorities and needs are effectively met
  • create and maintain relevant databases to support learning and teaching activities, such as clinician/patient databases, contact information, etc.
  • coordinate the compilation of academic content and materials prepared by teaching staff for printed publication, and uploading to Canvas, supporting the development of materials for a program, ensuring copyright compliance
  • coordinate processes for teaching activities, including unit of study outline templates, assessments, examinations, plagiarism, special consideration, prizes and scholarships, results processing, and student evaluation sheets.
  • support in academic requirements and the overall timetable for the work area, and ensure compliance with relevant legislative and regulatory controls, ensuring a safe working environment for staff and students.

About you

As an Education Support Officer, you:

  • have tertiary qualifications with some relevant work experience, or equivalent combination of relevant experience and training
  • have administrative experience in a tertiary organisation, working knowledge of academic institutions, structures, and the higher education sector
  • have experience delivering education programs, preferably in a tertiary education environment
  • possess effective and tactful communication skills (both verbal and written) together with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to use initiative and exercise sound judgement, along with the ability to prioritise workload during busy periods
  • have a demonstrated ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced and complex environment, maintaining a clear focus on customer service
  • have excellent time and workload management skills with demonstrated ability to prioritise effectively, manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines and achieve required outcomes.
