About You

As a Post-doctoral Research Fellow, you will be working as part of the CloudTech RMIT Green Bitcoin Joint Research Program jointly supported by the CloudTech Group and RMIT. You will take the major responsibility to design, implement, and test the new generation of Proofs of Space-Time (PoST) consensus protocols for large-scale green cryptocurrency platforms.

The Post-doctoral Research Fellow is a 3-year fixed-term position. However, a performance review will be conducted within 12 months of each anniversary of the start date of this position to determine if the contract can be renewed for the next 12 months based their performance.

To be successful in this position, you'll have:

  • A PhD in Computer Science related field is required
  • Extensive research and/or industry experience of consensus algorithms, blockchains and/or other distributed systems design, implementation and testing
  • Emerging track record and recognition for quality research outputs in the areas of blockchains and distributed systems, development of new research initiatives, competitive research funding, and industry links
  • A strong work ethic, and the ability to work well independently, and as a member of a broader team, including with industrial partners
  • Ability to mentor and/or supervise higher degree by research candidates
  • Excellent interpersonal and communications skills appropriate for interacting with higher degree by research candidates, staff and industry, together with a strong commitment to teamwork and multidisciplinary collaboration.
