Applications are invited for appointment as Tenure-Track Clinical Assistant Professor in Orthodontics of the Faculty of Dentistry (Ref.: 511472), to commence as soon as possible, on a four-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal upon mutual agreement and with consideration for tenure before the expiry of a second four-year fixed-term contract.

The Faculty of Dentistry is the only dental school in Hong Kong and is the only one in Greater China that uses English as the medium of instruction.  The high quality of the Faculty’s undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, clinical services and research excellence attained global recognition, as evidenced by the Faculty’s World Number Ranking among the top 1% by the QS World University Ranking by Subject in the past six years.  The Faculty’s strategic research themes include Clinical Artificial Intelligence, Craniofacial Regeneration, Microbiome Innovation, Oral Cancer, and Population Oral Health.  The Faculty also plays an important role in public and professional education through its knowledge exchange activities as well as in dental and oral health research, and promotions in international, regional and local communities.

Applicants should demonstrate excellence in clinical care, research and teaching in the field of Orthodontics.  They are expected to work collaboratively in a dynamic and diverse environment, develop a competitive research portfolio, and contribute to teaching and curriculum development in Orthodontics at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels.

Applicants should possess a dental Bachelor's degree or equivalent and a Master of Dental Surgery degree or equivalent in Orthodontics.  They should also have (i) ability in undergraduate and postgraduate clinical teaching and practice; (ii) potential for and interest in research; (iii) ability and willingness to participate in Faculty affairs; and (iv) participation in knowledge exchange activities.

A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits.  At current rates, salaries tax does not exceed 15% of gross income.  The appointment will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 15% of basic salary.  Housing subsidy will be provided as applicable.
