Applications are invited for a Temporary part-time (0.5128 FTE) until 31st May 2022 post of a Senior Research Engineer within School of Mechanical & Materials Engineering Machining 4.0 - Towards the Machining Shop-Floor of the Future is a 4-year Interreg Europe project financed by the European Regional Development Fund with the objective of enhancing the productivity and innovation performance of small and medium sized machining focused enterprises throughout the North-West Europe region and to increase the adoption of Industry 4.0 technologies among these firms.

The role of Senior Research Engineer offers a suitable candidate the opportunity to work in a European research-industry collaborative project, both internally with UCD researchers and externally with consortium partners in Belgium, Netherlands, Germany, Switzerland, France and Scotland, as well as small/medium sized machining firms and the funding agency. The successful candidate will focus on identifying the needs of machining SMEs in Ireland and then collaborate with the project consortium members to develop and deliver solutions to address those needs, as well as promoting the capabilities of these solutions to wider audiences.

This position is based in UCD School of Mechanical & Materials Engineering.

Fixed salary: €55,000 per annum (pro-rata)
