Administrator

Grade 3 £20,600 - £23,487 per annum

Full-time: 35 hours per week

Fixed Term until September 2022

University of the West of Scotland (UWS) is one of Scotland’s largest modern Universities with approximately 17,000 students and around 1,700 staff.  UWS aims to have a transformational influence on the economic, social and cultural development of Scotland, and beyond, by providing relevant, high quality, inclusive higher education and innovative and useful research.  We aim to make the communities we serve more successful; and to create opportunities for all to participate.

As outlined in our Corporate Strategy, ‘Our purpose is to change lives, transform communities and encourage enterprise through outstanding, distinctive and progressive higher education. Our focus is on personalised learning experiences supported by internationally recognised research’.

The Centre for Continuing Professional Development develops and delivers courses that support individuals and organisations in upskilling, reskilling and retraining.  We operate contracts all over the world and our portfolio of courses supports professional development in multiple sectors for those looking to enhance their skills in the workplace.  We work closely with academic colleagues to offer pathways of study that will allow an individual to gain knowledge and experience at their own pace, on their own terms.

We are now seeking an Administrator to provide efficient support to the Centre, and the wider Business Innovation team as needed.  The post holder will be responsible for supporting the administration of both existing and new CPD income streams.  They will work with both internal and external stakeholders, students and clients in supporting the team to prepare and deliver training programmes. This may involve raising requisitions, invoice requests, collating and checking documentation and communicating with project partners.  For campus based training, the post holder will be responsible for coordinating room booking and catering, as well as booking exams or answering queries from delegates.  They will also support responding to initial course enquiries and arranging student registration as part of the CPD team.
