Job Description

The Host And Pathogen Interactivity Laboratory at the National University of Singapore has a vacancy for a Research Assistant to work on a collaborative project with research colleagues from the Genome Institute of Singapore, A*STAR. The project will focus on the impact of influenza virus mutability on seasonal influenza vaccine efficacy and viral pathogenesis.

The candidate is expected to carry out seasonal influenza virus infection experiments both in vitro and in vivo. He/she will perform virological and molecular techniques to evaluate influenza virus mutability, virulence, vaccine efficacy, and host responses, including virus plaque assay, neutralization test, quantitative RT-PCR, ELISA, immunoblotting, immunofluorescence, and mouse infection protocols.


The candidate should have a BSc or MSc degree in Life Sciences, preferably with prior experience in research project(s). Competence and skills in microbiological and molecular techniques would be advantageous. Salary and benefits will be commensurate with qualifications and work experience.
