Classification: Senior Manager 1
Salary package: $118,003 - $123,640 per annum plus 17% superannuation
Terms: Full Time, Fixed Term (3 years)

We are looking for an innovative collaborator who can lead our growing team of careers specialists and support staff to design and implement high-impact solutions for student and graduate employability.

Team Overview

The ANU Careers team is expanding to strengthen career education, employability initiatives and industry relations across the university. Aligned with the Government’s Job-ready Graduates Package, ANU Careers will support students and graduates to have the capabilities, adaptability and experience they will need to thrive in a challenging labour market.

The ANU Careers team is integral to ensuring our students can successfully navigate the changing world of work and are confident in creating their future careers. We are working closely with academic Colleges to support the variety of outstanding programs providing work-integrated learning and provide authentic careers education through curriculum-embedded and standalone learning experiences. Over the next three years, we are looking to significantly extend our work in close collaboration with our internal and external partners.

Position Overview

Reporting to the Pro Vice-Chancellor (Education and Digital), the Manager works closely with ANU stakeholders to fulfill the objectives of the portfolio’s strategic plan, forging strong relationships with Colleges and the centralised Service Divisions. The Manager will lead and shape a growing team of employability specialists and support staff to facilitate a holistic, lifecycle approach to student employability including embedding careers education into curriculum and employer engagement.

Supporting the university-wide commitment to improving student and graduate employability, the Manager will create a culture of innovation and evidence-based practice in careers education and employability. The Manager will support the team to deliver and coordinate activities related to career development and employer engagement.

Critical to the success will be a collegial style, strong consultation and communication skills, and a proven commitment to providing an outstanding student experience.
