Applications are invited for one Research Associate post in Theoretical Physics in the Department of Mathematics at King’s College London.  The permanent members of the group are Dr Dionysios Anninos, Professor Nadav Drukker, Professor Nikolay Gromov, Professor Christopher Herzog, Dr Petr Kravchuk, Professor Neil Lambert, Dr Mario Martone, Professor Sameer Murthy, Professor George Papadopoulos, Dr Andreas Stergiou, Professor Gerard Watts and Professor Peter West.

This is a fixed-term post for 24 months and is funded by the Royal Society projects, ‘Advancing the Conformal Bootstrap’ and ‘The Atoms of a DeSitter Universe’. The projects are aimed, respectively, at advancing the understanding of phases of quantum field theories and the properties of quantum fields in curved time dependent spacetimes. 

Candidates should have the potential to carry out research which has high levels of originality, innovation and depth that may lead to significant impact on their field over the long term, and have expertise related to general theoretical physics, including aspects of quantum field theory, gravity, and string theory.

The post is available as of 1 March 2022, with a starting date between 1 March 2022 and 1 September 2022, and is for a 2-year period.
