Job Description
Yale-NUS College is a highly selective liberal arts and science college in Singapore. Co-founded by Yale University and the National University of Singapore, the College is committed to excellence in research and teaching in a full residential programme that integrates living and learning. Its curriculum educates students in Asian and Western intellectual traditions as well as current scientific thought.
We are seeking to hire a Postdoctoral Fellow in South and Southeast Asian Archaeology and History for a three-year term, starting on 1 March 2022.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The successful candidate is expected to work with Associate Professor Emanuel Mayer and Professor Maria De Iorio, and participate in a research project on computer-assisted numismatics. Tasks would include:
- Die studies of ancient South and Southeast Asian coinages, with the help of a ground-breaking computational model.
- Data collection in South Asia and Europe.
- Historical analysis of the material under study.
Qualifications
A prospective candidate should have a PhD in a related field and an interest in numismatics.
