We have an exciting opportunity within our Engineering and Maintenance Team to join our established team to carry out the delivery of compliance based contracts across the University's estate.

Main duties include:

  • Responsible for ensuring compliance with University policy and statute law by translating these into clear operational processes and communicating to Estates and Facilities staff and contractors alike for Asbestos and Confined Space. 
  • Providing reliable and robust operational guidance, knowledge, and advice in developing, implementing, administering, monitoring and reviewing University Asbestos and Confined Space Management Plan(s), Safety Rules and permit to work procedures in conjunction with Health Safety and Risk team (HSR).
  • Budget responsibility for delivering the asbestos survey, monitoring and managing spend and forecasting any remedial action spend that is required.

What we are looking for:

The successful candidate will hold relevant industry qualifications necessary to the role and have extensive experience in delivering this type of role. They will be familiar with H&S legislation and understanding of risk assessments, method statements, COSHH assessments and how to apply these to planned and reactive maintenance.   

An understanding of other compliance such as permit to work, would be beneficial but not essential.

This role is based at Highfield Campus but with some travel to other local sites.
