This is an excellent opportunity for the right person to make a significant contribution to support our digital transformation plans. As a member of the Digital Academic Practice (DAP) team within the Education Development Service (EDS) you will work with academic staff to develop our course offer to digital formats through the use of established tools, e-content frameworks, and learning objects.
As a Digital Learning Content Developer a core aspect of this role will be working closely with academics from across the university and also with Instructional Designer colleagues within DAP. You will use multimedia production tools and techniques to create highly engaging learning objects which you will then use to plan, design and support the delivery of online content.
Your work will be based on creating engaging online content and some awareness of pedagogies to support higher education learning would be advantageous. Collaboration is key and you will work closely with other Digital Learning Content Creators to scope, write and edit content so it is relevant, understandable and accessible.
A degree and/or postgraduate qualification in a relevant subject, with experience of creating engaging online content for use in an academic setting is essential. An awareness of pedagogies to support higher education learning are beneficial to this role. You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills with good technical knowledge of a range of IT software and e-learning tools and the capacity to work both independently and with a team. A good eye for detail and the ability to write engaging instructional materials are important.
