Position overview

The School of Music, at the Australian National University (ANU), offers, Bachelor, Honours, MPhil and Doctoral programs in music, with undergraduate majors and Honours specialisations in performance, music technology, musicology, composition and composition for film and video games. The ANU School of Music is focused on graduate supervision in these fields, and has a strong focus on both published scholarship and practice-led research, as well as a number of outreach programs that have a significant national and international impact. The ANU School of Music is a leader in music making with the First Nations of Australia.

The successful candidate will be expected to demonstrate internationally benchmarked excellence in musicology and music technology, as well as a track record of publications and a clear research trajectory relevant to the field. As this is a multi-disciplinary appointment it is likely that the candidate will have a prime area of expertise which will be well documented. The successful candidate will undertake research supervision at MPhil and PhD levels, as well as engage in a variety of service activities, including performances, recordings, research seminars, ANU committees, public events, recruitment, and outreach.

The ANU College of Arts and Social Sciences (CASS) is one of seven Colleges at ANU.
