Job Description
We seek a highly motivated and an organized scientist with a background in soil microbiology, agriculture, rhizosphere microbiome interactions, carbon/nitrogen dynamics and related experience working with plants/trees in field and lab conditions. The position is within a multi-disciplinary research team, which broadly pursues microbial diversity and physiological investigations on plants systems. The team consists of Post-doctoral fellows, PhDs and other Research Assistants.
Qualifications
We are looking for a candidate with PhD in soil microbiology/agriculture, sediments with demonstrated experience (at least three peer reviewed publications in international journals) in studying carbon-nitrogen dynamics, soil microbiology, green-house gas emissions in field and controlled experiments. He/She should be a self-initiated researcher with an innate capacity for systemic and cross-disciplinary thinking. He/She should have the ability to understand and integrate concepts from multiple disciplines, especially biogeochemistry, ecology, and plant physiology and data science platforms. He/She should have a strong background in plant physiology, microbial ecology, and environmental microbiology. He/she should be familiar with molecular biology techniques, environmental sampling, mesocosm experiments and laboratory bioassays.
